Dark Horse have kindly allowed us fans to get a preview of #6 in the on-going “Buffy Season 8″ comics by putting the first six pages online.

These have previously been seen in black and white as a pirated scan from Comic-Con, but they are now officially available from the publishers themselves in full colour.

This issue is the first part of Brian K. Vaughan’s “No Future For You”, a story arc for the Slayer Faith.

Well, after canceling the show and postponing the last two filmed episodes (twice!) Fox are now saying that they will make them available online.

At the moment the plan is to make them available through “FOX On Demand”, the same as the four previously aired episodes.

Lets hope they come through this time!

If, like me, you have been waiting to hear something from Tim Minear about his canceled TV show “Drive”, wait no longer! Over at DriveFans.com Jackal has posted an interview with Tim and Craig Silverstein (executive producer).

With Drive pre-maturely cancelled, we took the opportunity to catch up with executive producers Tim Minear and Craig Silverstein about what would have happened had the series continued.

Well it may not come as much of a surprise to those that are familiar with the Fox TV network, but it seems as though after promising to air the last two filmed episodes of “Drive” (first on July 4th then moving it to the 13th) the executives have decided to scrap the whole thing.

You can read more about it over at Whedonesque as it seems that for the moment Fox have removed the announcement from their own site.

Episodes of “Standoff” (Gina Torres) and “Bones” (David Boreanaz) are currently scheduled to air in its place. I guess they know which fan group it is they are upsetting.

Jo Chen’s cover art for Issue 6 of Joss Whedon’s ‘Buffy Season 8′ is now online at Comic Art Community, and Faith has never looked better!

This is a Brian Vaughn issue, the first one of this series not to be written by Joss himself, so it will be interesting to see what Vaughn does with this.

One of the biggest stories going around the Whedon ‘verse at the moment is undoubtedly the addition of David Greenwalt as an executive producer on the upcoming TV series “Moonlight”.Why is this story getting so much coverage? Because it is about a Vampire who is a Private Investigator. Sounds familiar doesn’t it?

Joss Whedon fans have given the news a bit of a mixed reaction, but with someone as great as Greenwalt as showrunner at least there is a chance that this series may be worth watching.

Over at Fractal Matter they have an excellent interview with Brian Lynch looking at his work on the ‘Spike’ comic series and talking about the upcoming “Angel:Season 6″, let’s hope that this project is as big a success as the “Buffy comics.

No bullcrap, Angel was my favorite show of all time. To be asked to be part of it’s future, in any medium, by Joss Whedon himself? Dream come true. I’m also looking forward to hearing people’s reactions. I think what we have planned is gonna knock people down, steal their wallets, pick them up, dust them off, fix their hair, give them a hoagie and a ride to the nearest carnival, accompany them on the tilt-a-whirl, hold their hair when they get sick, and pay for cab fare home. It’s THAT much fun.

One of the news items that got caught in my Google alerts today was an interesting little tidbit from tv.com that Tim Minear will be appearing in an episode of “Standoff”, a series on Fox in which Gina Torres has a recurring role as Cheryl Carrera.

I don’t know a lot about this series myself, but according to the site:

Matt Flannery and Emily Lehman are top-ranked crisis negotiators in the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Unit who are trained to talk their way through volatile situations. They make an outstanding team professionally, but their relationship is a bit more precarious off the job. The series advances the fundamental idea that in life and in love “Everything is a negotiation.”

Tim’s episode, “Backfire”, is due to air June 15th.

His only other acting credits are for ‘Muse Voice’ on a couple of episodes on his series “Wonderfalls“

I have been taking a look around the entertainment sites over the weekend, trying to get a handle on which projects to follow over the next season, and so far it is looking pretty good.

Watch With Kristin reports on a couple of new series you may want to follow:

• Nurses: Sara Rue and Eliza Dushku costar in this soapy dramedy set in an urban hospital staffed by beautiful practitioners of medicine. (Hey, it worked for Scrubs, House and Grey’s!)
• The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Based on The Terminator movies, Lena Headey (300) takes over for Linda Hamilton as Sarah, and Thomas Dekker (Clairebear’s pal Zach from Heroes) costars as John Connor. *The main interest for Whedon fans is that Summer Glau will be playing the role of a female Terminator in this series*

Unfortunately both of these series will be running on the Fox network, so we will have to see how long these run for.

More good news though, according to ZAP2it.com it looks as if “How I Met Your Mother” will be picked up for another season:

• A rumored CBS schedule circulating on the eve of upfronts includes on-the-bubble comedies “How I Met Your Mother,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and “Rules of Engagement.” CBS is likely to maintain a Monday night comedy block that includes third seasons of “HIMYM” and “Christine,” as well as a second run of mid-season comedy “Rules.” *Looks as though our favourite witch Alyson Hannigan is still working her magic*

With David Boreanaz still going strong as Seeley Booth in “Bones” it looks as though there is plenty to look forward to on the small screen. If only “Drive” hadn’t been canceled.

Speaking of which, there is an amusing little video interview of “Slither” director James Gunn over at Collider.com partially conducted by our captain, Nathan Fillion. Nice bit of begging for employment going on.

Fox have announced that the final two episodes of Tim Minear’s “Drive” will be shown back-to-back on July 4th.

It’s not really much of a shock that Fox have decided to air these last two episodes on a day when most Americans will be out and about, but at least it will allow us fans to see our “Captain” Nathan Fillion in action again.

Set your recorders now, and get these episodes up online as soon as possible afterwards, I want to see them too!
