No, this is not a gossip column article about a romance breaking up, but the end of the movie deal that Joss Whedon had with Warner Bros. Pictures/Silver Pictures.
The Hollywood Reporter covered an article earlier in the week telling of Warner Bros. picking up a second WW script, a highly suspect action, but at the time they claimed all was well.
Then yesterday Joss posted on the Whedonesque blog (his semi-official website) :
You (hopefully) heard it here first: I’m no longer slated to make Wonder Woman. What? But how? My chest… so tight! Okay, stay calm and I’ll explain as best I can. It’s pretty complicated, so bear with me. I had a take on the film that, well, nobody liked. Hey, not that complicated.

As a personal take on the matter, I was never too keen on the project myself and I am glad that he will now have more time available to concentrate on “Goners“, a project that I am far more interested in.
